Douglas Horne is a co-founder and a Managing Director of TWG and President of D. R. Horne & Company (“DRH”), a widely acclaimed leader in land planning, real estate asset management, and development (www.drhorne.com) . Since its inception in 1982, DRH has led the planning and implementation of renowned real estate projects for major family offices, corporations and institutional clients, earning a national reputation for extraordinary design, financial performance, client dedication, and a steadfast commitment to environmental sensitivity and sustainability. In 2019, Douglas co-founded The Working Group, a boutique real estate development practice to extend his capabilities as an adviser, developer, sponsor, owner’s representative and general partner.
Over the course of his career, Douglas has invested in and developed a broad array of real estate projects. Through a collaboration with Jonathan Rose Companies, he formed Horne Rose LLC, a firm specializing in planning and developing environmentally conscious, culturally diverse, and affordable communities in partnership with cities, towns, and nonprofits.
Douglas has also served as the Director of the Land Advisory Services Program of The Conservation Fund in Arlington, VA and as the Managing Director of Open Lands, Inc., leading the acquisition and development of residential projects throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States.
Douglas is a former trustee of The Adirondack Conservancy and Land Trust and a former President of the Stone Barns Restoration Corporation. He currently serves as a trustee of the Laurance S. Rockefeller Fund, the Demeter Fund, the Jackson Hole Preserve Inc., and the Woodstock Foundation. He is Chairman of Woodstock Resort Corporation (Woodstock, VT).
Douglas is a graduate of Marlboro College and Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
