Robert Vertes

Director of Design and Construction

Robert Vertes is the Director of Design and Construction at TWG.  Robert joined The Working Group in 2019 after accomplished tenures at Champalimaud Design, the Related Companies, and The Rockwell Group.

Robert specializes in creating, managing, and nurturing award winning design projects, celebrating place-making, and spurring innovation. He has applied his creative problem-solving skills to 10+ million square feet of property development, including 6 million square feet of constructed space.  Over the course of his 25-year career, Robert has successfully managed prominent teams of architects, designers, and engineers on high profile projects world-wide.

As a Principal at Champalimaud, Robert was the design-lead and Principal-In-Charge of prestigious hospitality developments, including The JW Marriott Tampa, the centerpiece of the Tampa’s new 50-acre mixed-use waterfront district, The Pearl Guest Lounges at the Bahrain International Airport and the Halekulani Okinawa.

As a senior member of management at the Related Companies, the world’s leading mixed-use property developer, Robert oversaw the design creation and development of important, complex projects including The Shops at Hudson Yards, a 1 million square foot, upscale retail complex.  As a senior member of management at Rockwell, Robert acted as design-lead and site representative for the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Resort.

Robert holds a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University.
